Fun
in the sun with everyone!

It’s been an amazing
season of CSLI graduation parties so far this year! What
better way to celebrate having so many international
students at CSLI than with a World Expo graduation? For May's
graduation ceremony we did just that, with groups from
each country setting up booths to introduce their own
culture to their fellow students (and staff as well!).
National anthems were sung, dances danced, and
traditional foods eaten. It was an amazing opportunity
for us all to get to know each other a little better and
understand our differences while finding common ground
at the same time. Especially the most important thing we
all share…being a part of the unique CSLI family!

Officially
starting the Summer off, as always, was our June Boat Cruise with a
Hawaiian theme, as we all set sail for a leisurely
cruise around Vancouver, taking in some incredible
scenery and enjoying the ride with all of our CSLI
friends! Fun times!
Students
from 32
different nationalities then finally hit the beach in July
for a fantastic beach party, with a variety of games
that featured a sandcastle competition and boat making
contest that brought out the creative genius in
everyone! And we`re really looking forward to an
exciting Autumn including the always amazing Halloween
party at CSLI! Check out some of the awesome pictures of
our graduation events on the CSLI
Flickr page
Well done to all the May, June and July students who won
medals for student of the class. Plus a special
congratulations to our Student
of the Month winners, Sandra
Santos of Brazil in
May, Yasser Aldehaimi from Saudi Arabia in
June, and Idalia Barraza Mendoza of Mexico
in July who each received a 4-week scholarship to study
for free at CSLI! Good job!

staff invade Cirque!

In appreciation of their fantastic efforts and terrific
results, CSLI owners Lawrence and Lori-Ann sent all
staff members off to Cirque du Soleil for a night of
amazing entertainment. The evening started off with a
party in full costume at the school, after which
everyone descended upon the circus for a spectacular
display of acrobatics and fun.

Thanks again to Lawrence and Lori-Ann for the incredible time
and for recognizing what a great team we have!

| Groups
having a blast at CSLI! |
|
More and more groups from countries all over the
world are flocking to CSLI to experience our famous
“Wow!” factor. This year has been exceptional with
groups visiting us from Turkey, Italy, Mexico, Japan,
Thailand, and Saudi Arabia – all with specific
programs, custom designed by CSLI to help them get the
most out of their English studies and overall experience
in Canada! From trips to local schools and memory-making
as volunteers to just living it up by traveling
throughout our beautiful province, our group students
have experienced many of the amazing things Canada has
to offer! And the best part is seeing the many students
that come back to CSLI, either on their own or as part
of another group, to once again experience that feeling
of “Wow!” It’s been great having you all back as
part of the family! Groups are welcome to check out what
programs we have available at http://www.csli.com/programs/csli_courses.html
or just let us know what you’re interested in so we
can create something special! esl@csli.com

| Look
Who`s Talking! |

From
a hectic Summer at CSLI, I was lucky enough to escape to
South Africa in time for World Cup 2010 and a great
wilderness safari.
Most
of our students in Vancouver followed the games between
classes while I flew & drove around Capetown,
Johannesburg, Durban & Port Elizabeth to see eight
knock-out games live including the semi-finals and
final. My heart broke for our students each time one of
their countries fell, until we were left with just one
winner, Spain.
Although the
games & fans were a spectacle, the people and the
country were even more impressive: the landscape, the
cultures, the animals.
Despite
the warnings, we felt little danger and saw no crime,
and the organization was unbelievable. This was possibly
the best World Cup I have attended, if you consider all
that was required of South Africa.
English
was by far the most used language between most traveling
fans, officials and local people - which shows you
English is the language of choice for travel and
business.
Check
out the stories and adventures of our CSLI flag, meeting
Paris Hilton and our promotion for Canada to hold the
2030 World Cup on our facebook
page and our CSLI
2030 website
Well
done Africa, you must be very proud! And we can't wait
until Brasil 2014!
