Cruising, dancing, and catching rays! |
The bar of excellence keeps getting raised at CSLI graduation parties in 2009! In April, CSLI took to the dance floor and boogied up a storm at our 70`s
Disco Fever grad. Afros and groovy threads were out in full force as we hit the nightclub and got down! May brought with it a chance to really start soaking
up the incredible sunshine Vancouver has been enjoying as we ventured to the park for a fun-filled afternoon of physical competition during our CSLI Sports
Day Picnic Grad! Congratulations to all members of the Green team!
And topping it all, as always, was our June Boat Cruise with a Hawaiian
theme as we all set sail for a leisurely cruise around Vancouver, taking in some incredible scenery and enjoying the ride with all of our CSLI friends! Fun times! And we
can`t wait to sail off again in September, with a big beach party and Olympic grad along the way! Check out some of the awesome pictures of our graduation events on the
CSLI Flickr page at http://www.flickr.com/photos/cslicampus/sets/72157615859946721/

Congratulations as well to all the April, May and June students who won medals for student of the class and, of course, to our Student of the Month winners, Yaser
Abdullah M. Aljaloud from Saudi Arabia in April as well as Nathalia Ramajo Esteves of Brazil in May and Tsugumi Ito from Japan in June,
who each received a 4-week scholarship to study for free at CSLI! Way to go!

Back to business!
Students have found a revitalized interest in the CSLI Business Program! The objective of this in-demand program is to give students a "hands-on" opportunity to use
all the English skills needed for a variety of business situations. Classes have been specially designed using a variety of resources ranging from university business coursework
to the most up-to-date articles from business journals, news magazines, online sources, and multi-media materials. The program itself features guest speakers, discussions,
presentations, and opportunities for role-playing, all designed to improve technical grammar and Business English vocabulary. Ask us for more information on this course or see all
of our courses at http://www.csli.com/programs/csli_courses.html

Olympics right around the corner!
February 2010 is going to be here before you know it and with it one of the most anticipated events in Vancouver`s history - the Olympic games! Much like CSLI, the games will bring
together people from around the world to enjoy the spirit of Canada and all it has to offer. CSLI is going to be open during the Olympics, with special hours to allow students and
staff alike to enjoy the enthusiasm surrounding the events and ceremonies. Because of the popularity of the games and of Vancouver itself, we at CSLI recommend you start making your
plans now to make sure you don`t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the Olympics, see Vancouver, and, of course, have an amazing study-abroad experience at CSLI itself!
For more information on our hours during the Olympics, please check http://www.csli.com/prices_and_dates/calendar_2010.html

Facebook shutterbugs!
Yes, CSLI now has it's own Facebook page! It's a place for past, present and future students to keep connected and stay in touch with each other. Check it out and you are sure to be surprised by
the many words of heartfelt affection and testimonials from our CSLI family. We have many special events and contests planned for the page, including our recently concluded CSLI photo contest which
called for students to send in some of their photogenic masterpieces of shots taken of Vancouver and CSLI. A lot of wonderful memories were shared but in the end only 3 winners could be chosen in
various categories. For a closer look at some of the entries, including the winning photos, become a CSLI fan

Look Who`s Talking!
In 1998, when I was 58 years old, I decided to improve my bad English and did one intensive month course in the old building that CSLI had on Robson Street.
Because I had very good memories of this experience, I have come back to stay again some days in Vancouver and its surroundings and to visit the school.
When Lawrence and Lori-Ann showed me the modern and efficient new building on Nelson street, I clearly recognized that which, in my opinion, is the best value of CSLI:
1) It is possible to combine to learn a language while enjoying life doing many complementary activities
2) It is possible to combine kindness with modern and very good teaching techniques
3) The soul of CSLI continues being to treat each student like a unique and individual person
