Another year has come and gone at CSLI and what a year it was! We welcomed students from over 30 different countries into the
ever-growing CSLI family and had an amazing time getting to know each and every one! 2008 finished off with a bang as
celebrations were held for both staff and students alike. The CSLI staff party kicked things off with a wonderful theme of giving.
Everyone was given a chance to make a donation or help someone out in any way they saw fit. Heartfelt stories were shared and warm
and fuzzy feelings were shared by all. The CSLI Christmas party for students was also a smash hit once again, with everyone enjoying
turkey, presents, and a visit from Santa Claus!
|
The whole month of December was filled with feelings of good cheer as many events
were held including a lunch to help with our canned food drive and a performance by the CSLI choir at a seniors residence and other
locations in our local community. It was a fantastic way to end the year and we are looking forward to an even better 2009! We can't
wait to welcome you!!

Gourmet Grad! |
|
November brought one of our favourite graduation ceremonies and along with it the chance for students to show off their amazing
cooking talent. The Chef Grad was as always a lively celebration that provided a fantastic opportunity to enjoy time with our international
family here at CSLI! We sampled traditional dishes from nearly 20 different countries and found that we all have a similar interest
that transcends international boundaries - the appreciation of great food! For more on some of the cool events that make CSLI such a
special place to be, check out the link at

Congratulations also go out to all the students in both November and December who won medals for student of the class and, of course,
to both of our Student of the Month winners, Urai Atkla from Thailand and Pedro Zuleta from Colombia, who were each rewarded with a 4-week
scholarship to study for free at CSLI! Congrats!

Hit the Clubs! |
|
One of the best ways to improve your English is to take what you have learned in the classroom and use it in a fun setting with people who
have the same interests. CSLI likes to provide students with many chances to do just that! Lifelong friends have been made as students get
together outside of class to battle other teams on the soccer field, play a friendly game of tennis, or challenge steep rock climbing walls.
We encourage students to bring their own ideas to the table as well! We hope you will feel free to create your own club and gather other CSLI
students with the same passion! Starting again in January, CSLI is also going to be bringing back the always popular Conversation Club, giving
students a chance to get together with a Canadian teacher along with fellow students to discuss various issues in a casual coffee shop setting.
Everyone will be welcome so come and join us!

Look Who`s Talking! |
Hi, team CSLI!!
I really want to say THANK YOU for everything to you guys, I had a really good time with you and I learned a lot, especially the importance of smiling!!
Because you guys are always smiling and it releases our tension and we don't feel nervous anymore when we have problems. I know it is really hard to keep smiling all
the time, but you always practice, even if you feel bad.
I will try to keep smiling all the time especially when I feel bad, sad or depressed. I'm pretty sure it will change my mind positively!
I already miss you guys so much... this morning, I was almost crying because I remember about CSLI. Anyway, I will do my best in Banff!! See you soon.
I will come back!! Don't work too much or you'll catch a cold!! haha
Best regards,
Azusa Shibata
