| Boat Cruise |
| The great weather in Vancouver provided ideal support for our Hawaiian Boat Cruise graduation party at the end of September. The sunny skies allowed for smooth sailing as 200 students and staff members celebrated our departing students. Certificates were given to over 50 graduating students, and the best student in each class was awarded a medal to recognize their achievement. |

The Student of the Month award, celebrating outstanding academic performance and extracurricular participation, went to Sven Hentschel from Germany – he wins a 4-week full-time scholarship to CSLI.
Congratulations!

Vocabulary Hunt
Our contest for the month evolved into a new game – a vocabulary hunt.
Students in teams searched the school for pictures of vocabulary words, which they had to correctly write down. The wild and crazy hunt helped students improve their vocabulary and spelling – and won prizes for the winning team of Eisuke Yamada and Yukie Komatsubara.

| New Programs |
| CSLI is preparing lots of exciting new class ideas! Our Corporate program is scheduled to start in early November, and we are opening a new Intro Listening & Pronunciation class to help our lower level students with these important skills from our popular program. Stay tuned for more details! |

| Anniversary Celebrations |
CSLI kicked off its 15thyear with some celebrations. Free doughnuts, ice cream, and Chinese lunch were among the culinary treats given to CSLI students to celebrate our many years of success.
An ongoing promotion through June 30, 2007 is a 15% discount for all students who come back to study at CSLI again. Bookings must be done online.

Happy Birthday!
Birthdays are always a special celebration at CSLI.
Every student celebrating a birthday gets presented with cookies and sparkles while the school sings them ‘Happy Birthday’!
When it was our Director’s birthday, however, we went a little bit further. Each class wrote a poem or suggestions on living a happy life and presented her with flowers. A professional photographer captured the moment for us all to remember.

| Friday Activities |
| Our Friday activities are shifting with the seasons. While we continue to offer Academic classes and tours, we are also working with the festivals and holidays taking place in Vancouver. October will include Ice Skating (it’s not that cold yet, but we’re getting ready) and Vancouver Film Festival outings. Hallowe’en is coming up at the end of the month, and before our Hallowe’en Graduation party, we have such activities as pumpkin picking, costume making, and Jack o’ Lantern carving! |

| Practicum Program |
| One of the reasons students come to study in Canada is to practice their English in real-life situations. Our Practicum Program enables students to enter a working situation so they can be with native speakers in a field of their choice. Recent practicum placements include our Student of the Month Sven Hentschel who has been placed with Mercedes Benz. Our program could help you experience the work environment of your dreams in English! |

Thank you for your help and support recently. You have been very kind and the teachers have provided much information and motivation. While attending your school I really enjoyed the relaxed and casual atmosphere, especially joking with the ladies at the front desk.^ ^ Once again, thank you for the last 35 weeks.
