| Happy New Year!! |
| CSLI rang in the New Year one day early with our cocktail-making Friday Activity. The students learned to make traditional holiday drinks and cocktails, and rang in the New Year with a big toast. 2005 was a wonderful year and we thank our students, agents, teachers and staff for helping make it such a big success for us all. We look forward to a fantastic 2006! |

Christmas Grad Our annual Christmas Grad took place two days before Christmas, with a fun-filled feast and beautiful celebrations.
After saying goodbye to our graduating students, prizes were awarded for the best student in each class and the Student of the Month for the whole school. The latter was awarded to Christin Wolkenstein from Germany, who wins a one-month scholarship to study at CSLI.
We then had a traditional Christmas lunch - Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and all the trimmings - before the CSLI Choir and CSLI Actors performed for the whole school. Santa came for a visit too, giving gifts to all the students and posing for photos.
It was a great start to a very Merry Christmas!

| 'Tis the Season |
Christmas time is a time when Canadians traditionally give to others who are less fortunate. We kicked off December in this vein by attending a famous charity event in Vancouver.
Every year, the Pan Pacific Hotel hosts a toy drive to attract toy donations for underprivileged children. Donors are given a free breakfast in exchange. This event was very well attended by staff and students alike, with a delicious breakfast being eaten overlooking the snow-capped mountains.

At CSLI, we also collected several boxes of canned food to give to those less fortunate than us. Additional fundraising activities, including a soup sale and 50-50 draws, raised over $500 for Sri Lankan teachers as we approached the anniversary of last year's disastrous tsunami. |

| Harry Potter Magic |
| Once again, CSLI’s Harry Potter movie class was the most popular activity of the month. Over 40 students came to this unique class, which featured information about the famous Harry Potter book and movie series taught by resident CSLI wizard Mark, who has presented classes for the premiere of each of the three previous Harry Potter movies. After learning about vocabulary, characters, and plot details, everyone went to watch the new blockbuster movie “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.” It was a magical and exciting afternoon! |

Ambassador of the Year
This award is the yearly award that goes to the person who has contributed most to helping CSLI internationally.
This year this highly-prized award went to Jack Castro, from Argentina. Jack, who met and married our manager Valeria when they were both students at CSLI, has done much to help our school with our computer systems and international relations.
Congratulations, Jack! |

Look Who’s Talking
This month's letter comes from Becky Tsai from Taiwan, who studied at CSLI in 2000 along with her brother Vincent.
Happy New Year!
I got married recently, and so many CSLI friends came to Taiwan from Japan to join the wedding. You must remember them. In this picture, you can see my brother Vincent (who also studied at CSLI), Emi Terao, Hiro Minematsu, Ikumi Ogawa, my husband, me, Mitsuru Sano, and Aki Ueda. And can you see the baby? She is Mitsuru's daughter Momoka! She is so cute!
We all had a really wonderful time and I was so happy my friends could join me!
I miss you guys so much and hope to see you soon!
Love, Becky
