BBQ Grad
One of CSLI's most popular graduations took place on a beautiful sunny day. Our beach grad featured lots of fun games and activities after a barbeque hamburger lunch. After saying goodbye to many graduates, we awarded the Student of the Class awards, which now feature medals for all the winners!
The Student of the Month award was won by Florian Herzing from Germany. Florian is now doing an internship, and will claim his one-month full-time scholarship once he has finished.
Congratulations to all our winners and graduates!! |

| New TOEIC Class |
|
| We are pleased to announce that on July 4 we introduced a new TOEIC Exam Preparation Class. This class will assist the many students who are interested in getting a good TOEIC score to help them get a good job when they return to their home country. Students will learn and practice all required skill areas, and will do practice tests every two weeks. CSLI also offers an official TOEIC test at the school every month, so you can find everything you need here. Yet another reason to come study at CSLI!. |

Corporate English Program
CSLI is pleased to announce that we are now taking registrations for our Corporate English program for this coming October. This course allows businesspeople to improve their professional business English skills while complementing their studies with part-time work with their companies or with Academic English classes.

| Welcome to our Turkish and Quebecois Students! |
 |

|
We have two wonderful groups of visitors this July - a group from the towns of Marmaris and Datca in Turkey, and a group from Quebec!
The Turkish students have quickly made themselves popular at school, especially as great hosts of a Turkish Night dinner. Participants enjoyed a delightful meal of Turkish delicacies, followed by an electric guitar performance by Irfan Yilmaz and Engin Konuk. The two had held a jam session at the school earlier that day to great applause!
Our students from Quebec have brought their warm enthusiasm to our classes, and will be hosting a Quebecois night this month. |
Friday Activities
Our Friday Activities continue to allow students to enjoy interacting with Canadians and learning about Canadian Culture. This past month, one of the most successful activities was a visit to Shannon Falls, where students were met by First Nations people who spoke about their culture and taught them a traditional dance. For many students this was the highlight of their Canadian experience!
Upcoming activities for July that will explore other beautiful parts of British Columbia include tours of Bowen Island, Whistler, White Rock, and Lynn Valley. |

Soccer Scores!
CSLI’s extra-curricular soccer team had a great season playing against teams from other ESL schools.
We are proud that our own Shinya Kamata was the top goal scorer in the entire league! Congratulations! |

Look who's talking
This month's letter comes from 1999 Ambassador of the Year Hak Choi!
How are you? It's been long time since I sent an email. I'm sorry about that. However, I can feel close to you guys from the CSLI Newsletter. I've been enjoying the newsletter. Thank you for having it.
Well. One month ago I quit my job in Korea and came to Japan to learn Japanese, meet my friends, and enjoy my life. I've met several friends who I met at CSLI five years ago (Wow, it seems just like yesterday).
I'm going to stay in Tokyo one more month and travel to Osaka and some other cities, and of course I'm going to meet the other friends who were also students at CSLI. Whoever I meet, they always miss the life in Vancouver and CSLI... Me too. I hope I can go to Vancouver again and meet you guys. I'm always sorry that I missed the 10th anniversary.
Well.
Take care and say hello to anyone I know. I don't know who is still working there. From the June newsletter, I guess Christine is still working there as a teacher.
Best regards,
Hak Choi from Tokyo
