Chef Grad CSLI's tastiest grad took place as students prepared food from their home countries. This is one of our most popular grad parties, as students are able to share their home culture with their classmates.
After saying goodbye to our graduating students, we presented awards to the best students in each class.
The Student of the Month Award for the whole school went to Hector Reyna Garcia from Mexico, who wins a one-month scholarship to continue his studies at CSLI.
Students then sampled their classmates' cooking and culture.
The winner of the best overall table - food and overall presentation - was the team from Libya. Congratulations!

Speech Contest
Our contest for the month of November was a huge success. Our Speech Contest had four categories.
Our four finalists gave excellent presentations.
The winner was Hee Yun Moon (Mark) from Korea, with the support of his Academic classmates, who told a wonderful story, winning the top prize of $50. The other three finalists shared prizes.
Congratulations to all participants and winners! |

| Power Vocabulary Class |
| CSLI has added yet another course to our repertoire: Power Vocabulary! Through excerpts from university level readings, students are able to transform their passive vocabulary (words which they can understand if read or heard) into active vocabulary (words which they can readily use in their own writing and speaking). The Power Vocabulary course is 8 weeks in length and students who complete the course can expect to add more than 800 words to their active vocabulary. The course also contains a writing component that challenges students to use the new words. |

Korean Night
Our theme nights continue to be among the most anticipated social events at CSLI.
November's Korean Night was a well-attended event that introduced many of our international students to that country's spicy food. Everyone had a great time eating the delicious food and using Korean metal chopsticks.
In December, theme nights will include Pasta Night, Japanese Night, and Tapas Night! |

| Winter Activities |
| As Winter approaches, winter activities are becoming more popular with our students. November's Ice Skating activity was led by Mark Aaron and Anna, and lots of students had their first experience with a sport that is a common winter hobby in Canada. In December, some of our wintery activities include a Whistler Tour, the Van Dusen Festival of Lights, Making Christmas Decorations, Making Gingerbread Houses, and Bright Nights in Stanley Park. |

Look who's talking!
Dear Lori-Ann, I studied English at your school 10 years ago. My wife, Heidi (Kim Hyun Ock), used to study there as well. I am Hiro (Hiroshi Kondo). We had a baby 3 months ago.
I just would like to let you know about that because your school is an unforgettable place for both of us. I attached some of our pictures. Do you remember us?
Now your school seems to be much greater than it was 10 years ago.
Please say hello to Mr. Lawrence.
