This unique program is designed
for seniors who wish to brush up on their English
skills and enjoy the most popular tourist destinations
while in Vancouver. Seniors who participate in the
Golden Experience Program will have the advantage
of being involved in an extremely active international
school without the pressures of serious study. With
lots of personalized attention, seniors will immediately
begin to feel more at ease in an English-speaking
environment.
Seniors will spend their mornings studying the English
necessary for real life situations: basic greetings,
using public transportation, getting around the neighbourhood,
asking for directions, shopping, making reservations
and buying tickets, ordering in a restaurant, and
expressing likes and dislikes. The focus will be on
survival skills with an emphasis on Canadian customs
and culture. In the afternoons, seniors will have
a chance to put their English into practice while
enjoying Vancouver, visiting the Aquarium, hiking
at Lynn Valley Park, shopping at Granville Island
Market and enjoying many other sightseeing activities.
Once per month students may register for either 2
or 4-week programs. From their first orientation to
the final graduation party seniors will be amazed
at how much fun studying and using English can be!
