Where are the Easter Eggs???
The
hunt was on this Easter for the hundreds of chocolate Easter eggs that
were hidden throughout CSLI! The winners were Hideki Ota and Azusa Oshiro
from Japan, who won one pound of chocolate each for their efforts. CSLI
was closed over Easter and we hope those of you who celebrate this occasion
had a wonderful time with family and friends.

Speaking with Idioms Contest
All students did a great job in the contest, which
focused on using a selection of over 50 idioms. Students needed to be
especially conscious of their pronunciation, word choice and listening
comprehension as they tried to use the idioms. Congratulations to our
Idioms contest winners - it was a tie! - Huong from Vietnam and Masa from
Japan! They share a $100 gift bag of prizes!

Beach Party
 CSLI
held the April graduation ceremonies at the beautiful Sunset Beach. In
addition to saying goodbye to our graduating students and enjoying a potluck
lunch, we played a variety of Canadian beach games, such as Volleyball,
Soccer, three-legged races, water balloon toss, and more. Special congratulations
to Tariq Fouzan from Saudi Arabia, winner of the coveted Student of the
Month prize, which consists of a four-week full-time scholarship at CSLI.

Academics rule the school!
This spring at CSLI, the specialty classes were as
popular as ever. The TOEFL preparation course, Business/TOEIC course,
Academic, TESOL and Listening and Pronunciation course were the most popular.
TOEFL students tested each other on some of the 500 vocabulary words that
they learned recently! CSLI will be adding several new courses for our
summer programs that will sure to stimulate students who are serious about
their studies with new and unique subjects. Special thanks to all of our
guest speakers this month including an SPCA representative, and several
Canadians who spoke about cross cultural experiences.
