Exciting
Internships for 2003!
CSLI is proud to be offering one
of the best internship programs in Vancouver. The evaluations we have
received from both the students and the companies have rated the program
"excellent". Some of the companies involved this month are BC Hydro, Seatrade
Shipping Ltd, Waves Magazine, Fireworks Marketing and the Vancouver Police
Department. A special thanks to all the companies who support the CSLI
Internship Program.

Romance
continues at CSLI!
February is, of course, romance month
at CSLI. And as most of you know, we have a reputation for inspiring love.
We have had over 23 couples meet at CSLI that have gotten married. We
tried to encourage romance this month by selling secret Valentines to
all of the students, which were presented on Valentine's day with a chocolate
kiss. We also had our famous dating game contest where one lucky girl
interviewed 6 different guys from around the world (whom she could not
see) and chose one for her date. CSLI paid for the 2 lucky lovebirds to
have lunch in one of Vancouver's most romantic restaurants. Congratulations
to Maki and Masaru! We will let you know if the romance continues.......

It's
a girl..
Congratulations to our former manager
Michelle Balogh, who gave birth to a little girl on February 15. Sofia
Balogh is a beautiful, healthy girl and we wish Michelle the best with
the new addition to her family. Also, special congratulations to our staff
members who are celebrating many things this month: Miki Barria, our student
counselor, just returned from getting married in Mexico; Heather MacDonald
just celebrated her 7-year anniversary with CSLI while Mark Ainley, our
Assistant Head Teacher, has celebrated his 3rd anniversary with CSLI.
Keith Enns has settled into his new position of Office Manager, and Alexandra
Rutherford is doing a remarkable job as our new coordinator of homestays,
internships, and activities. And congratulations to our former homestay
coordinator Elizabeth Vieira-Castro for the arrival of her baby girl Isabel!
Viva
Las Vegas!
The
lights and the excitement of Las Vegas were the inspiration of the graduation
ceremony this month. Students were given casino chips to play with and
walked away with many prizes. Big congratulations to our Student of the
Month, Ching Fang Liang (Betty) from Taiwan. She
worked very hard this month and participated in many school events. Betty
will receive a one-month scholarship to CSLI. Also, congratulations to
Melanie Nagler from Germany for studying very hard and winning CSLI's
Phrasal Verbs Contest, and Agata and Claudio for winning the intense CSLI
Ping-Pong Championship.

A
Tribute to a Great Man
CSLI
has lost a good friend this month. One of our agents, William Wood, has
passed on. We send our deepest sympathy to his family & friends and the
staff at Pure/Havenwood Agency. William was a dedicated man who always
cared deeply about his students and was a pleasure to work with. His service
was attended by many people who knew and loved him. In tribute to his
work with CSLI, we will be offering a scholarship to one of his clients
each year who follow William's inspiration.
