CSLI Takes Their Staff on a Cruise!
"In an incredible act of generosity, CSLI was delighted to give all its staff members a Caribbean cruise to enjoy from November 8-16, 2003." It all started like a dream that seemed unreachable. Who was going to run the company? Who was going to substitute the teachers? Well, everything was perfectly planned. Former employees were contacted and Lawrence stayed in town in order to continue taking care of the school. "In today's world, where the working recognition seems uncommon, it is invaluable to work for such generous and professional people like Lori-Ann and Lawrence Keenan. Through this magical trip they showed us that they appreciate our working performance, but most importantly, that they love us." Thanks to all the former staff that came back to work: Dena, Tracy, Andrea, Nicole, Kirsty, and many more! Sorry you couldn't make it on the cruise Mark, but getting famous has it priorities:

CSLI Gets Into the Christmas spirit
All of the CSLI students rehearsed their Christmas carols this month, getting ready to sing for over 100 seniors at the Yaletown Seniors' home. The performance was a memorable experience for all the students and seniors involved. Also, many students went to the Pan Pacific Hotel with a new toy for a needy child and received a great buffet breakfast. Thanks to all the students for their time and generosity!

Chef Graduation in November 19
Chefs from around the world prepared all week to share their country's food with the other students. Big congrats go out to Kattia from Costa Rica who won 1st prize for her well decorated table, tasty coffee, and delicious food! She won $100 for her hard work.

Wolfgang from Germany and Ana from Brazil, the Idioms contest winners. Big congratulations to our many students who participated in the Idioms contest in November. Many students studied very hard and the contest winners were: Wolfgang from Germany and Ana from Brazil, who each received a gift basket for their efforts. The contest in December was the Pronunciation contest. All students worked very hard this month perfecting their pronunciation. The winner of the clearest pronunciation was Yumiko from Japan, who won a basket of Christmas goodies!

Christmas Time at CSLI?
After the busy fall season, we enjoyed spending time together at the annual Christmas party. A full turkey lunch with all the trimmings was served to the students. Students also enjoyed a surprise visit from Santa Claus, who handed out gifts. Students sang Christmas carols and performed a special Christmas play that they had been rehearsing all month.

Student of the Month for December, Sung Gu Kang from KoreaThe Student of the Month for December was Sung Gu Kang from Korea, and our biggest award of the year, the Ambassador of the Year award, was presented to Su Sun (Susy) Kim from Korea who volunteered countless hours at CSLI this year. Way to go Susy!
