Volunteering
with Vancouver's Elite
15
of CSLI's students volunteered to work at an event that raised money for
Random Acts of Kindness. Over 200 guests were invited to a fun filled
night of wine, food, & action. The CSLI students were the big hit however,
as most guests found that talking to students from all over the world
was the highlight of their night. Thanks to all our hard working students
who were: bartenders, waiters, hosts and music dj's for their participation.

It's
a boy!
Our
Valeria and Jack (one of the many CSLI couples who met and got married
at CSLI) finally had their long awaited baby arrive on May 3rd. Christian
Castro weighed in at 3.4 kilos and has a full head of hair already. Congratulations
to the both of them and Happy Mothers Day too! We also are delighted that
Brigitte is back and will be taking over for Val while she is taking care
of her baby. . .and after months of searching we've finally found our
administrator Jennifer! She had spent some time perfecting her French
skills at our partner school in Montreal for a few months. Then she had
enough of the cold temperatures and headed down to Mexico to visit some
of our past students and work on her tan. She is back at CSLI to co-ordinate
the big 10 year reunion at the end of the year.

Keith's
trip to Europe and beyond...
Our
Teacher Keith and his wife are off adventuring around Europe on a holiday
of their life. Here is their update: We started off in Augsburg, Germany
to recuperate from our long journey (including a 2 hour stop on the tracks
outside of Nurenburg) at Colin and Marlene's place (college mates). Off
we went on our first day of biking in the pouring rain hoping to cycle
80kms. Well...we did it and felt pretty good about it. We spent the next
couple of days going about 80kms a day through the rolling hills of Bavaria
enjoying the small towns. Everything you can ever imagine about the beauty
of the Bavarian hills actually exists. When we reached the Danube River,
we headed east to Passau to stay with Anne (Keith's former student). She
was a great host and showed us all the great things about her city. It
was really wonderful to bike from there into Austria...later that day
at the end of a rather long stint we found ourselves going up a steep
grade for 5K into a beautiful town on top of a small mountain. We pushed
it though & didn't feel so bad when we talked to a German group who had
an 85 year old with them who did the same up! The view at the top was
incredible...those are the kind of surprises we have to be willing to
accept.
