TOEIC & TESOL Success:
CSLI
students averaged 745 in their TOEIC scores this month. Congratulation
to Dirk Grossmann for the top score of 855. CSLI's new TESOL certification
program is also producing excellent results with students completing their
study component. Now begins their 100 hours of observation and practicum
to demonstrate their teaching skills before graduating on April 17th.

Warm
Hearts for Disadvantaged Children
On
Valentines Day, gifts generously donated by our warm-hearted students,
homestay hosts, and staff raised $915 CDN in a charity auction for our
four school sponsored disadvantaged children. The auction had a romantic
theme, and gifts ranged from plates of home baked cookies, candles, and
bottles of wine, to private English tutoring for individual students.
Special thanks to all our students and homestays for their inspiring generosity.

Free
Activities & CSLI Olympics!
Spring
has arrived and has brought with it blooming flowers, nicer weather, longer
days and warmer nights, sunshine, sunglasses and lighter spirits! CSLI
students enjoyed some spring FREE Friday spring skiing and snowboarding
on Grouse Mountain, one of Vancouver's most exciting local mountains.
We're breaking out the tennis racquets, soccer balls, t-shirts and shorts
for the warm weather ahead! While the best of the best athletes competed
for gold in Salt Lake City, USA, students at CSLI competed to see who
was the best of the best in some less traditional events. Germany, Mexico,
and Austria topped the CSLI medal count! Congratulations to all our "athletes",
as well as all the nations athletes in Salt Lake for bringing honour and
pride to their respective nations!

Mardi
Gras Graduation!
Students
hid their true identities behind black clothes and hand-crafted masks
at this month's graduation party. The
carnival styled celebration took place at one of Vancouver's dinner and
dance clubs, and was a smashing success! Class prizes were awarded to
the hardest working students and the best costume. The student with perhaps
the most to celebrate was Satoe Tokushima from Japan, who was chosen as
February's Student of the Month. Satoe will receive a free flight back
to our 10 year reunion and a one month scholarship with all the other
students of the month. Well done Satoe, and congratulations for all your
hard work!

Cupid
Wishes & Wedding Bells!
Two
special students had their wishes granted by Cupid this Valentines Day.
Many students wrote touching letters about their romantic wishes, and
in the end Cupid decided to fulfill the dreams of two of our very committed
students. Their desire was to stay together for one more month, and Cupid's
gift was one more month of studies here at CSLI! Congratulations to Raphaella
and Marco of Italy! Congratulations also to Akemi Sato and Nicola Adami
for tying the knot. These two lovebirds met and fell in love at CSLI,
and we wish them a happy and prosperous future together. Just for the
record, this is our 25th CSLI wedding! See love at CSLI:
