Student of the Month
Student Of The Month.
This month the Student of the Month award, which includes a return trip flight ticket and a one month scholarship during our 10th year anniversary party this Fall, was presented to an exceptionally friendly student. In her short time here, Sabine Wesely has made a tremendous impact on the students and staff at CSLI. She is very social and with her outgoing nature and warm smile she has made many friends from all over the world. She is a very hard working student who has really improved her oral fluency and gained confidence with the English language. After her graduation on April 12th Sabine will participate in our Internship program, giving her the opportunity to practice her English in a professional work environment. We look forward to seeing her again at our 10th Anniversary in November!!!

Student of the Year AwardAwards.
For the second time in our 10 year history, CSLI has awarded the very special Student of the Year award to an outstanding individual who has touched our lives. Min A Kwon first joined the CSLI family in July 2001. She was a student leader, often organizing and guiding activities, always welcoming new students and helping them to get settled in their new environment. She volunteered her own time as a peer counselor, student host, translator and administrative assistant. She was always willing to offer a helping hand and all will miss her kind heart and genuine smile. To acknowledge Min A’s contributions, remind her how much she is loved and appreciated, and to guarantee that she will visit us often in the future, Min A was given the Student of the Year Award, which entitles her to free lifetime English at CSLI. Congratulations Min A!

Internships for Success
Congratulations to Dirk Grossmann, recently placed with BC Hydro as an electrical engineer and Sabine Wesely with LifePath Seminars as a career counsellor and program developer. These are two of many recent CSLI internship placements with reputable companies and organizations in our community.

Psychics, Quizzes and Jelly Beans!
One of the themes studied this month at CSLI was “The Supernatural” and since our request to arrange an alien abduction was denied, we brought in the next best thing… a psychic! Gilles Perrain read palms and tarots and answered all of our questions regarding his abilities. He was very open about his abilities and shared with the students some of his most memorable moments.
In the month of March students studied Canadian facts and trivia, learning about our country's government, monetary system, history, geography and culture. Congratulations to MI Jin Lee, the winner of the Great Canadian Quiz!
Special congratulations to Kanako Aoki who most closely estimated the correct number of Jelly Beans in our Easter contest. Kanako guessed 2502 and won herself 2662 sweet treats!
