"Enrollment numbers highest in CSLI history:"
Despite the recent events in world news, CSLI enjoyed it's busiest month ever, with many students finding Canada to be a safe alternative to other study destinations. Over the last month, CSLI students enjoyed the company of others from nearly 20 different countries! These included: Argentina, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Taiwan, Turkey and Venezuela. Enrollments continue to be strong for the upcoming months and we look forward to a successful fall season. Special thanks to all our hard working agents and CSLI staff for all their extra efforts this year.

"CSLI Continues to 'Unite the World with English':"
In September, our school moto could not have been felt more strongly. After September 11th CSLI students expressed their feelings in many ways and through such moments as the students having written and recited poems to the entire school, we have found ways to understand one another's cultures. Another group of students left letters at the US Embassy in Vancouver.

Student Of The Month.
"Volunteer Opportunities are Numerous:"
In both September and October, many of our students have enjoyed becoming immersed in Canadian culture through opportunities to volunteer in such favorite festivals as: the International Film Festival, the International Writers' & Readers' Festival and the Terry Fox Run. All participants agree the chance to meet other Canadians has benefited them greatly. They've not only had the chance to practice their English in real situations, outside of school, but have made many new contacts and friends. Congratulations to all who participated!

"CSLI's Soccer Team the Champion ... "Soccer.
... among all the other ESL schools played in Vancouver. With the encouragement of the great turn out of fans and our enthusiastic cheerleaders, CSLI won every game played and is number one! Congratulations to our team of international players!

"Graduation was a “Dance 'tll dawn ” celebration:"
CSLI celebrated out last big graduation party at Fred’s nightclub in Yaletown. We gave our graduates a great good-bye dance party that lasted well into the hours of the morning. Sandra Schmalzl was awarded the Student of the Month Award for being the most sociable with other nationalities and improving her English. She will be joining us next year for her free trip back to Vancouver and a scholarship to study for one month with all the other Student of the Month award winners. As an added surprise, her boyfriend arrived from Germany and proposed marriage to her – it was a week she is sure to always remember! Special thank you to our alumni, Reinhold Kremer, for recommending CSLI to Sandra for us.

"October at CSLI ..."
brings an Indian summer as the weather in Vancouver is more like summer, rather than fall. We are celebrating Thanksgiving with a turkey lunch this week and are looking forward to the fun ahead with Halloween. For all you alumni, Halloween may be one of your best memories. If you have a favourite Halloween picture, please send it to us. All present CSLI students and staff will be dressing up for our annual costume party at the end of the month, with a $100 first prize to the best costume. Good luck to all our students & enjoy your time at CSLI!

Turkey.

Best wishes from your friends at CSLI,
