CSLI Announces New Address for Early 2001
We are excited to announce our new downtown location of:  188 NELSON STREET, VANCOUVER, BC (corner of Nelson & Cambie St)!  Our facility is street level and in the heart of Yaletown, about 10 minutes from Robson Street.  CSLI is now part of the prestigious Concord Pacific developments.  http://www.concordpacific.com/ourneighbourhood/yaletown.html

Our New PlaceA full map of the area and directions to our new campus will be available on our website shortly.  Classes will begin at the new facility early 2001.  Agents and students, please note that although our address will change, our phone, fax and e-mail addresses will remain the same.  Until further notice, we ask that you continue sending mail to our present address also.  We look forward to seeing you at our new location soon!

Welcome to our New Downtown Neighborhood
Yaletown is the trendy tech area of downtown Vancouver.  CSLI is located just 5 minutes' walk from the Vancouver Public Library, sports stadiums (NBA & NHL games), the SkyTrain, the Granville Island ferry and is at the centre of the high tech industry.  Yaletown contains very fashionable shopping, coffee shops, bars & restaurants, nightclubs and bookshops - it is regarded as the "place to be" in Vancouver. http://www.concordpacific.com/ourneighbourhood/ourneighbourhood.html

Study English While Being Part of a Real Community
No other school offers you such a great downtown location, with a true Canadian community experience.  At CSLI's new location, you can eat, sleep, study, play and even work English.  Yaletown has everything:  homestay and apartments, shopping & entertainment all in one downtown area.  You can meet many professional Canadians who'll share their community with you.  Internships are available in our high tech (and other industry) neighborhood for those students who qualify.  CSLI unites the world with English!  http://www.concordpacific.com/ourneighbourhood/yaletownneig.html

CEC Agents the First to Visit CSLI's New Location
Agents attending the CEC Agent's Fair in Victoria this November are invited to visit CSLI's new location.  Although presently under construction, site tours will be arranged for a sneak preview of our new facility and neighborhood.  For those agents who have not yet booked a meeting at the workshop, you may still do so in order to learn more about CSLI and our CanadaWide partners.  Please book directly at:  http://www.workshopschedule.com/cwen2000.htm

TOEIC Scores Soar at CSLI
Our official TOEIC scores for our students this month were very good. Congratulations to Hitomi Kimura for our highest score this month of 880! We are still looking for the student who will beat CSLI highest score of 950 ...

Fall Season Free Friday Activities Included ...
We were blessed with exceptionally nice fall weather in October, which allowed us to still enjoy many outdoor activities, among them: a Whistler trip, pumpkin picking & hay ride at a farm and a cycling tour of Stanley Park.  Other choices included:  acting class, Mexican lunch, Science World, Sushi making class, getting a Halloween costume and the Vancouver Snow Show.  For those very studious students, Friday classes were offered in:  pronunciation, idioms, past tense and creative writing. http://www.csli.com/brochfree.htm

Among our extra curricular activities, several students enjoyed a Thanksgiving Day feast of turkey and all the trimmings.  The history and meaning of Thanksgiving was learned by everyone, while sharing our own reasons for being thankful, which were fortunately plentiful for all.

Congratulations to Carlos of Venezuela!
Congratulations to our October Student of the month: Carlos Duarte Vieira Franco, from Venezuela!  He began his studies in level 2 and  is now in our Advanced Business Program.  His interest in all cultures and hard working study habits helped him to win this award. His award includes a free ticket back to Vancouver and a one month study scholarship.

Volunteering in the Arts & Social Services

Congratulations to our students who volunteered at the Vancouver Film festival, Vancouver Writers Festival, day care centers and the Vancouver Seniors Computer Learning Society.  Some CSLI students were also lucky enough to be an extra at  the Hollywood taping of Josie and the Pussycats. See you on the big screen soon!

Halloween was a Howl this Month at CSLI Halloween Prty
