Why Agents Choose CSLI Over Other Vancouver
English Schools: "I am currently working for a large corporation
in Osaka, Japan. Last week, I visited your school in Vancouver with one of my
Japanese students, who is interested in obtaining a Canadian working holiday visa
for next year. Out of the 7 schools we visited in Vancouver, CSLI by far exceeded
the others in terms of professionalism, course selection, extra curricular activities,
student care and school atmosphere. Your staff was eager to answer any questions
that my student or I had and made every attempt to make us feel welcome. I was
particularly impressed with your English only rule; something that other language
schools in Vancouver have tried to implement, but have failed to enforce. In addition,
it was nice to see students from all cultures interacting outside of class time.
In terms of staff, Rieko was extremely patient in dealing with my student. As
a result, my student has her sights set on studying with you in the future."

April's Student of
the Month is a CanadaWide First! Congratulations to Fumiko Inuzuka
of Japan, an incredibly hard working and joyful student who has successfully improved
her English. She joined CSLI after attending our partner school in Toronto, Village
English. She is the first student on the CanadaWide English Network "Fly-for-Free"
program to win this award. Good luck Fumiko, on your continued studies with our
partner schools in Charlottetown (Study Abroad Canada) & Montreal (Point 3). Fumiko

Leaders in the Business
Community Come to Speak at CSLI: Students in CSLI’s Business English
Program, as well as all those attending our regular Conversational English Program,
have had the special opportunity of guest speakers visiting from such business
backgrounds as: buying and selling property (real estate), finance, book sales,
employment services and dentistry. As well, representatives from a partner university
in Washington State came to speak to CSLI students about post-graduate studies
in the US. http://www.csli.com/brochbusiness.htm
CSLI Listens to Student
Suggestions: This month, CSLI’s hard working students expressed
their dedication to their studies through the results of a survey done by the
Business English class on duration of break-times between classes. The Directors
instantly acknowledged the need to try shorter break-times and with the support
of CSLI teaching staff, the last week of May, CSLI students will try this new
schedule. At the end of the trial week, if the majority of students are still
in favor, a change will be considered. http://www.csli.com/bulletinboard6.htm
TOEFL Now a Program Offered
at CSLI:
Beginning in June, CSLI will offer a half-time TOEFL program, to be held
in the afternoons from 1-4pm. This unique program will be colorful in
its teaching style and will include guest speakers from universities and
colleges, who’ll explain registration procedures, as well as entrance
exam to be expected. We are happy to be adding this program to the several
great programs we already offer, including Conversational English Program
(8 levels), Business English/TOEIC Program and Volunteer/Internship Program.
