APRIL 2000
CSLI
and CanadaWide English Network Welcomes Agents to Victoria!
The CEC has officially announced
that its 2000 Agents Fair will be held in Victoria,
BC on November 20/23. This fair has become the most
sought after for educational agents to view the best of what Canada has
to offer and CSLI along with all its CanadaWide partners will be there
again. We recommend that all of our agents contact
their local CEC and Canadian Trade Commission office as early as possible
to request an invitation. Please note that spaces are very
limited and decisions are made within your country. Please contact CSLI
for further advice about this excellent opportunity and to find out more
about CanadaWide's "Fly-for-Free" Program. CanadaWide
Directors from our five schools will also be in PEI for our annual strategy
meeting (May 18/20) should agents wish to meet us all in one place.

Why
Does CSLI have Among the Lowest Student Cancellation Rates in Canada?
Despite
British Columbia having one of the most generous refund policies available
to students, CSLI rarely experiences students cancelling. Why? Pedro from
Brazil: "My stay in Vancouver (Aug/Sep 99)
was fantastic! I made a lot of new friends and I still keep in touch with
them." Koko
from Japan: "I really hope we can always keep in touch since
I made SO many friends while I was in Vancouver. It was just fantastic
and I am planning to go back when my Diploma course is finished."
Claire from France: "My best wishes for
people at CSLI reading this message. I studied at CSLI in 1999 ... Kisses
from Paris." Mimi from Korea: "Hi..thank
you for your mail ... Personally I like CSLI so much ... so I'll try keep
in touch!!" Read more about what our students are
saying about CSLI by visiting our Student Reunion Page at: http://www.csli.com/guestbook.html
What University Professors World-wide
are Saying About CSLI:
Don't just believe our students, but hear what their
professors and educational advisors have to say. These are professionals
whose reputations depend on their decisions: Prof. Iwama from Japan
"... my worries are alleviated when I send my students to CSLI.",
Prof. Akbaba from Turkey "Thank you very
much again to you (and) to your staff ... for your warm hearts and your
help.", and Prof. Trudel from Quebec:
"We appreciate the professionalism of all the personnel, the care
of the families, the solid competence of the teachers. But most of all,
our studnets love the feeling of being considered ... as members of the
same family".

Great
Mix of Nationalities at CSLI this Month
Students from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Germany,
Hungary, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Poland, Province of Québec, Russia,
Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey and Vietnam now study at CSLI. Congratulations
to Jackie (Sang-Hyun Cho) of Korea, our Student of the Month for March
who has been studying at CSLI since October 1999. We are thrilled
that he has extended his program with us. We look forward to finding out
who our most dedicated and committed student will be in May. Remember,
it's not the highest student (academically), but the hardest working student
that receives this award, so it could be you! Special thanks to all our
old students for visiting us, especially Kitty from Taiwan, and Nicolajs
(his wife Anna, Aleksandra, Anastasija & Alona) from Latvia and Ani &
Armenuhi from Germany. http://www.csli.com/bulletinboard8.htm
CSLI
Students Join in the 3rd Largest Run in the World:
April's social calendar is a blast and CSLI students
volunteered and ran in the famous Vancouver
Sun Run. Over 46,000 people celebrated together in 10km of
fun through downtown Vancouver and Stanley Park!
Over
100 CSLI students received free tickets to NBA
basketball this month plus prizes, thanks to ClearNet Cell
(one of our Robson St neighbours). Thanks also to Reiko for organising
many opportunities to visit famous points of interest for a nominal cost
over the weekends, such as Victoria, Whistler,
Seattle and now, the Rockie Mountains too (including parties)!
Other adventure activities include skydiving and bungee jumping!
As
always, Friday activities are a great hit and will finish with our annual
barbeque graduation party in Stanley Park
this month. Next week students get to celebrate Easter with various fun
events plus a special huge Easter lunch, free
to all our students and staff. For those people who are less
fortunate, students have the chance to contribute and help at the Vancouver
Food Bank.
